Established in 1988, MegaChem has since emerged as a leading chemical player in Singapore and the region. Listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange in 2003, it is today a global one-stop specialty chemical solutions provider, offering integrated value-added services including manufacturing of proprietary chemicals, contract manufacturing tailored to customers' needs as well as international distribution of specialty chemicals.

MegaChem invests heavily in IT infrastructure including mySAP Business Suite software. This enhances our service efficiency and at the same time provides seamless information exchange which enables us to respond on a real-time basis to the needs of the fast-changing business climate and ever-growing business demands.

It is with these goals in mind that the MegaChem Institute of Management ('MGIM') was formed on 1 August 2008.
The role of MGIM is to plan, develop and meet the learning needs of the Company as well as be the engine to drive the organization's culture towards a high performing culture.

The avenue for on-going transfer of individual learning into organizational knowledge is the third action pillar to meet with the Company's strategic imperatives.

A forum where opinions are freely debated and innovative ideas are formed is the fourth pillar of action to help the Company navigate its course through external challenges and forces.
With the formation of MGIM, MegaChem has set to invest up to 5% based on its payroll budget on training and development, annually. In addition, MGIM also works closely with local government agencies such as Workforce Development Agency (WDA) to leverage on available training programs and funding.
All these are set to ensure a sustainable development platform for highperforming human capital to deliver differentiated shareholder values. MGIM will be the agent to provide the enabling infrastructure to make it happen.

We have also implemented a Whistleblowing program which provides employees a channel to report, in confidence, any improprieties in financial or other matters.
Community
At MegaChem, we recognize that businesses have a part to play in nationbuilding especially in providing assistance to people who are less fortunate than others. As such we work closely with charitable organization in finding ways for us to contribute to society. These come not just in the form of monetary contribution but also in committing time and efforts in these organization's activities. In 2008 MegaChem visited an orphanage in Vietnam during which we made monetary contribution as well as providing food and clothings to them. We also participate annually in several fundraising runs organized by JP Morgan and Standard Chartered Bank.
Environment and Employees
We take pride in our commitment to maintain high level of environmental protection, health and safety standards. We have attained the ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:1999 certification and are now a member of the Responsible Care Program. We were also awarded SCIC Employee Health and Safety Code Achievement Award 2008.
